Generally speaking every missing tooth can be replaced by an implant. Single crowns, blocks of crowns, bridges or dentures can be fixed onto implants in the same way as if they would be fastened onto natural teeth.

After implants have been placed, the patients usually receive provisional dental prostheses. Immediate loading of the implant depends on the basic stability of the implants, the quality of the bone tissue and some other factors. If certain requirements are met, permanent dental prostheses can be fixed within a few hours or days. Immediate implantation is the anchoring of the implant directly after the extraction of a tooth. This method carries a lot of advantages for the patient. Even when operations are carried out using computer technology, the success of the implantation largely depends on the experience and expertise of the surgeon. The quality of the final result depends in equal measure on the surgeon and the dental technician.

This is the main reason why many dentists specialise in producing prostheses and leave the anchoring of the implants to the surgeon.
