Oral surgery
Oral surgery is a specialized field within maxillo-facial surgery. It deals with diseases of and injuries to the teeth, periodontium, and mucous membrane of the oral cavity.
The following operations are carried out at MiraMed®:
- Surgical periodontology
- Extraction of teeth and broken roots
- Surgical tooth extraction
- Surgical removal of impacted teeth and wisdom teeth
- Surgical exposure of impacted teeth
- Root resection
- Dental transplants
- Soft-tissue sculpting (adjusting the frenulum of tongue or lip)
Generally all operations are carried out under local anaesthesia. If required or necessitated by medical circumstances, surgical interventions can also be performed under general anaesthesia.
