Root resection

Chronic inflammation of the bone in the area of the root apex often cannot be conservatively treated because of the many smaller root canals branching out from the main one. These are inaccessible to conservative root filling treatments.

The surgical extraction of this root section thus eliminates the weak point of a root filling treatment. To increase the average success rate of 75%, we carry out this operation under microscopic control. Usually the operation is performed under local anaesthesia.
