In the aesthetic treatment of wrinkles, dermabrasion is the oldest and most reliable method. The aim of this mechanical procedure is the removal of the outer skin layers. This leads to a regeneration, revitalization, smoothing and rejuvenation of the skin. In the hands of a skilled practitioner the results can be amazing – provided that the healing process remains uninterrupted and free of complications. A gentle, superficial removal of the outermost layer of the skin is called micro-dermabrasion.
This method is particularly suited for senior citizens who are interested in the rejuvenation and smoothing out of their skin, especially around the lips and on their cheeks.
Not only does dermabrasion regenerate and rejuvenate the skin, it also stimulates the increased production of collagen and elastic fibres in the connective tissue. After such a treatment the wrinkles seem to be less pronounced and the skin appears refreshed and smooth. Our favoured instruments are burrs (fraises) covered in diamond particles.
For small areas a local anaesthesia is sufficient, but for a full facial treatment we recommend a general anaesthesia.
With the help of high-speed burrs (fraises) superficial skin irregularities, scars, deep facial wrinkles, pigmentary abnormalities, and hammer noses can be successfully treated.
Contrary to cosmetic micro-dermabrasion, medical dermabrasion reaches deeper layers of the skin. Accordingly, a clearly visible and long-lasting improvement can be achieved with a single treatment.
Apart from the smoothing out of wrinkled skin, dermabrasion also improves the quality of the skin by stimulating the production of collagen and elastic fibres. This revitalization significantly contributes to a fresh and rejuvenated appearance.
