Course of the Operation

Hair transplantation – cost transparency

With the help of special measurement procedures we can determine during a preliminary consultation how many transplants (follicular units or FUs) are necessary to guarantee a natural look. A fairly precise number of necessary grafts can even be determined from analysing detailed photos.

Hair transplantation – state-of-the-art techniques

Our favoured surgical procedure is a further development of the micro & mini hair transplantation techniques which is known as the Follicular Unit Transplantation method. An alternative procedure is the Follicular Unit Extraction. With the help of local anaesthetics the operation is completely painless. We would, however, also be happy to treat you under general anaesthesia, if requested.

As a first step, grafts are removed from the back of the head. After a microscopic preparation of the follicular units, they are inserted into suitable transplant sites in the balding area which are created through micro-incision technology. The scar on the donor site is generally extremely fine and hardly visible even to the trained eye of a hair stylist. Immediately after the operation the suture is covered by the hair that has been combed back for the operation so that the donor site is able to heal without attracting any attention at all.

Hair transplantation – healing process

The transplant incisions in the balding area heal extremely quickly and are no longer detectable a few days after the operation. With our procedure we achieve almost a 100% growth rate in the follicular units that have been transplanted. New hair usually begins to grow after three months.
