Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery): eyelift, lid correction, tear sacs

Visible aging: tear sacs, drooping eyelids

For most people the first signs of the aging process become visible around the eyes. The sagging of the soft tissue often results in a tired and unattractive look. Apart from wrinkled, surplus skin, such as crow's feet, the most frequent signs are tear sacs and drooping eyelids.

Drooping eyelids, tear sacs: a reduction of the field of vision?

In an advanced stage of this condition patients may even suffer from a limited field of vision. Very often this impairment is accompanied by a low eyebrow position as well as the sinking or sagging of the soft tissue in the adjoining parts of the cheek. A successful correction depends on the choice of the most suitable surgical technique. Tear sacs and/or drooping eyelids can be corrected fairly easily. Convincing cosmetic results are only possible if the neighbouring regions are taken into consideration as well. Another key factor is the position of the eyebrows. If they have sagged excessively, they should be surgically repositioned before a lid correction involving the removal of tear sacs or drooping eyelids is attempted.
